Soil treatment with the MSD Steamer is environmentally friendly and methyl bromide free, with no chemical residues left in the soil. Various options, such as water treatment devices, steam hoses, steam blankets, steam injector nozzles, all work with this machine.
The general rule for soil sterilisation is: to allow approximately 60 to 90 minutes of steam application for every 10cm depth of soil to be sterilised. This obviously depends on the consistency and preparation of the soil to be treated. Steam application may be stopped once a temperature of 90 degrees Celsius is reached and held for about 10 minutes at the threshold soil depth. Without the use of specially designed suction systems soil can be sterilised economically up to a depth of 20cm.
